Aircraft Torque Tube - One of the items on the 'done' list was the torque tube assembly for a while. From front to back to whale tail, I should be able to complete this assignment with a little work.
First, I had to remove the fuel tank from the back of the plane to get to some items that needed to be easily completed. As I removed this tank, it was easy to put the shut-off valve in the right place, and make a support for the Bowden cable that would go forward of the keel to actuate this valve.

With the tank out, I can now easily drill a hole in the torque arm to attach the trim spring, and also the connection to the roll servo arm. Then I removed the torque arm, and removed the torque tube behind the keel to drill a hole in both to connect the two according to the manual. I drilled an 11/64″ hole, and then went to 3/16″ to get a tight fit. Then I reinstalled both back to the plane, in the whale tail bearing and put in the AN3-11A bolts and washers/nuts.

Then it's time to do the same for the front aileron tube assembly. I took all the tubes and universal joints from the plane and drilled using the same procedure two holes on the uni joint and each end of the torque tube. I reconnected it, put in the bolts and nuts, and put the finished assy back into the plane. The front torque tube has a smaller diameter that fits perfectly inside the rear tube, and this joint will be drilled in the next step, when we align the wing and side bars.

You can return parts or request a replacement within 90 days from the date of purchase without penalty. We will also pay the return shipping costs if the return is the result of our error (if you received the wrong or damaged item, etc.).
We do not accept returns on anything marked CORE, on any fuselage or any item that states "No returns accepted".
If the return is more than 90 days from the date the item was shipped, you may be charged a restocking fee. Each return is handled on a case-by-case basis, and we do our best to be fair and reasonable.

How Do Aircraft Brakes Work?
Matt was here before BAS was officially established. Matt started as a shop hand at our sister company Beegles, became a researcher/lister, a dispatcher, and eventually established himself in sales.
